In short: we collect only what the app needs to pick recipes for you and sync them across devices. We never sell your data and never show third-party ads.
01What we collect
We collect data you provide yourself and data generated as you use the app:
- Account data — your name, email address and, when signing in with Google, the matching service identifier. You can sign in with email or a Google account.
- Cooking preferences — diet, allergies, disliked foods, saved recipes and the collections you create.
- Content you provide — kitchen photos, recipe screenshots, audio recordings for recipe import, and links to public social posts (TikTok, YouTube) you paste. They are uploaded to our servers and processed only to deliver the corresponding feature.
- Usage data — which recipes you open, what you search for, session times — used to improve recommendations.
- Technical data — device model, OS and app version, language, and pseudonymised identifiers that keep things running smoothly.
- Subscription data — Premium status and purchase history (payment details are handled by the App Store and Google Play; we never see them).
02How we use data
Data helps the app be useful to you specifically. We use it to:
- pick recipes for your time, ingredients and preferences;
- sync saved recipes and shopping lists across devices;
- manage your Premium subscription and free trial;
- improve search, hints and recommendation quality;
- keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix bugs;
- send essential service notices (for example, about changes to terms).
03Legal bases
We process your data to perform our contract with you (providing app features), based on your consent (for example, push notifications), and for our legitimate interests — improving the product and keeping it secure. You can withdraw consent at any time in your device or app settings.
06Storage & security
Data travels over encrypted connections (TLS) and lives on servers with restricted access. We keep data while your account exists and delete it within a reasonable time after the account is deleted — unless the law requires longer retention.
Security. No system is 100% bulletproof, but we apply modern safeguards and keep them up to date to minimise risk.
07Your rights
With your data, you can:
- get a copy of the data we hold;
- receive your data in a machine-readable format to take elsewhere;
- correct inaccurate profile data;
- delete your account and everything tied to it;
- withdraw consent (for example, turn off notifications);
- lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.

08Children
PumpEat is not intended for children under 13 (or the age your local law sets). We do not knowingly collect children’s data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us — we will delete it.
09Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will announce significant changes in the app or by email. The last-updated date is always shown at the top of this page.
